This low-level light treatment option has exploded in popularity in recent years, with celebs like Kate Hudson and Chrissy Tiegen singing the praises of LED Light Therapy for its anti-aging, skin rejuvenation benefits.

But that's not where the perks of LED Light Therapy stop. LED Light Therapy is also used to treat acne, provide pain relief, and improve the overall cellular health of your skin. With Celluma Light Therapy, we can provide treatment to your whole body with one device.

What is LED Light Therapy?

Light emitting diode (LED) therapy uses different wavelengths of light (primarily red and blue) to improve skin health. Originally developed by NASA for plant growth experiments on shuttle missions, it was later noted for its potential for wound treatment.

LED Light treatments do not include ultraviolet rays and are safe for regular use. This type of therapy does not cause your skin to burn during or after treatment. Rare, mild side effects including increased inflammation and redness.

Light Therapy Benefits

Celluma Light Therapy provides multiple benefits to your health, including:

  • Reducing signs of aging, including improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

How does LED light therapy work?

Celluma is a professional-grade light therapy cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for medical use in the treatment of acne, anti-aging, pain management and wound healing.

Red light helps the body generate collagen and elastin, increases circulation and decreases inflammation. Collagen and elastin production help keep your skin smoother and fuller, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Red light also aids in wound closure.

Blue light targets the sebaceous, or oil glands, beneath your hair follicles. These glands are needed for preventing your skin and hair from drying out, but over-active glands can lead to oily, acne-prone skin. Blue light stops acne-causing bacteria in its tracks, helping to alleviate existing breakouts and bring back your skin's healthy look and feel.

Near-infrared light works like red light but reaches cells deeper in the body, providing relief for arthritic, joint, and muscle pain. It can also help to lessen muscle stiffness, soreness and spasm.

Treatments typically last for 20 minutes, with treatment cycles consisting of once-a-week office visits for up to 10 weeks. After the initial treatment cycle, you will only need follow-up maintenance treatments once every few months.
